Engine Co. Standby @ Rehoboth Fireworks

Tonight, an Engine crew from 85 travelled south to assist Rehoboth Beach Fire Co. during the City's fireworks event. Crews remained in town until around 2300. Thank you Chief Snyder for the invite and hospitality.

Automatic Fire Alarms

June 29, 2019

Tonight Milton units responded to two automatic fire alarms. First alarm was on Lewes Georgetown Hwy at M&D Bird Farm, units found a faulty detector. Second alarm was on Mulberry St at Casa San Francisco, which was a culinary mishap. Firefighter B. Millman had 85 command at both incidents

Vehicle Accident

June 28, 2019

Early this morning Milton units responded to an MVC on Cave Neck Rd. A-85 transported one patient to BMC. E-82 transported one patient to BMC. Situation was placed under control and units returned. Firefighter B. Millman had 85 Command.

Duty Crew

This evening a few members participated in an overnight duty crew. Members completed hydrant training and search and rescue training. The duty crew also handled a reported house fire. Thanks to the members who participated!

Vehicle Accident

Milton units were clearing a coverup at Sta. 75, when we were dispatched for a second emergency, vehicle accident on Coastal Hwy. 852 arrived to find one vehicle off the roadway into the trees. Two patients were transported to MMH. Units cleared. Rescue LT T. Stewart had 85 Command.

Vehicle Accidnet with Entrapment

June 22, 2019

Just prior to the 9 o’clock hour, Station 85 along with an ambulance from Ellendale and Sussex County EMS were alerted to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment in Cedar Creek Rd. East of Jefferson Crossroads. Engine Tanker 2 responded and arrived on scene within 5 minutes to find a two vehicle MVC with subjects trapped in both vehicles. Engine Tanker 2s crew began extrication on the priority patient. Rescue 85 arrived next and began extrication on the patient in the second vehicle. Both patients were extricated within 10 minutes of arrival. Life net 2 transported one patient while ambulance 75 transported 2 patients. 85 units cleared when ready and turned the scene over to DSP. Deputy Chief Hopkins has 85 Command. Units responding Engines 2, 4, Rescue 85, 85-8, A-85, B-75, Medic 101, DSP, DSFP.

Gas Leak

June 21, 2019

Just after the 6 o’clock hour, crews from Milton responded to an odor of gas in a residence. Command held the response to the Engine-Tanker. Deputy Chief Hopkins has the Command.

Wires Down

June 21, 2019

Just after clearing the gas leak, crews responded to Round Pole Bridge Rd. for a tree and wires down. Crews assisted Delaware Electric with removing the tree from the wires once power was secured. Units cleared when released by DEC. Deputy Chief Hopkins has 85 Command.

Automatic Fire Alarm

June 20, 2019

Today at 1715 hours, crews from Milton were dispatched to an automatic fire alarm just outside of the town limits. Crews arrived to find smoke in the residence from burnt food. Crews ventilated the home prior to clearing. Deputy Chief Hopkins had 85 Command.

Chief Harvey's Promotion

As some of you may know, our Fire Chief, Derrick Harvey, is also a police officer with the Town of Milton. Tonight, Chief Derrick Harvey was promoted from the rank of Lieutenant to the rank of Captain with the Milton Police Department. Congratulations Derrick on your promotion, you make us all proud.

Joint Training with Ellendale Fire Co.

Tonight, crews from Milton joined our brothers to the West in a joint elevator training class. Crews utilized the elevator at Milton Fire Department, and Dogfish Head Brewery for the class.

Vehicle Fire

May 29, 2019

At 1926 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 for a vehicle fire on Coastal Hwy in the area of Lockerman Rd. Engine-Tanker 85-2 responded under the direction of Asst. Chief Clendaniel, and arrived on scene to find a vehicle well off with a fire in the engine compartment. Crews from the Engine-Tanker stretched a front bumper line and made quick work of the fire. Ambulance 85 and Engine 85-4 also responded, their crews assisted the crew from the Engine-Tanker with overhaul. Units responding, Engine-Tanker 2, Engine 4, B-85, DSP, DSFP.
