Two Vehicle MVC

August 03, 2019

Just prior to the 11 o'clock hour, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 for a MVC at the intersection of Cave Neck Rd. & Hudson Rd. 85 Command responded shortly after dispatched and arrived to find a two vehicle MVC with two patients. Deputy Chief Hopkins immediately requested an additional BLS unit from Lewes Fire Department to respond. Crews from Engine-Tanker 85-2, Engine 5, and the Rescue secured the vehicles and removed debris from the roadway. Crews also assisted the BLS units as needed with loading patients. B-85 and E-82 transported one each to Beebe. Deputy Hopkins placed the scene under control and cleared all units. Units responding, Engine-Tanker 2, Engine 5, Rescue 85, B-85, E-82, DSP, DSFP.

Vehicle Fire

Crews handled a vehicle fire on Coastal Hwy. Chief Harvey had 85 command.

Multi Residential Fire

July 30, 2019

Just before midnight July 30th Milton units were dispatched for an outside fire that was upgraded to a multi residential fire in Shipbuilders Village. Crews found a small fire on the porch area that was quickly extinguished. Deputy Chief Hopkins had 85 command.

Vehile Accident

July 29, 2019

July 29th just after midnight Milton units were dispatched for a vehicle accident over turned with possible entrapment on Chestnut St in town limits. There was one occupant that was pronounced deceased on scene. Deputy Chief Hopkins had 85 Command.

Duty Crew

July 29, 2019

Monday July 29th members participated in a duty crew. One engine was staffed from 1800-0600. Crews also trained on ladder operations, and ended the night with a game of basketball. Thanks to the members who attended.

Vehicle Fire

July 28, 2019

Just after the noon hour, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 for a vehicle fire on Shingle Point Rd. Units arrived to find a pickup with a fire in the engine compartment and extinguished the same. Units responding, 85-15, Engines 4, 5, Rescue 85, DSFP.

MVC Reported Serious

July 27, 2019

Just after 0800, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 and Medic 101 for a MVC with entrapment on Broadkill Rd. just east of Rt. 1. B-85 responded immediately followed by Engine 5 and Rescue 85. B-85 arrived first to find a two vehicle MVC with one on its side with a subject still in the vehicle. Just prior to Engine 5s arrival, B-85 advised the subject had self extricated and was in the custody of DSP with no other patients. Engine 5 arrived followed a short time later by Rescue 85. Crews from both unit secured the vehicles and removed debris from the roadway. Engineer Millman placed the scene under control and cleared all units. Fire police remained on scene a short time assisting DSP with traffic. Units responding, B-85, Engine 5, Rescue 85, DSFP, DSP, Medic 101.

Motor Vehicle Accident

July 23, 2019

Just after 1800, units from Milton, assisted by Ellendale EMS, responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Gravel Hill Rd. and Milton-Ellendale Hwy. One patient was transported for evaluation. Units responding, B-85, Engine 5, Rescue 85, B-75, Milton PD, DSP, DSFP.

CO Alarm

July 17, 2019

Milton units handled a CO alarm off Brick Lane in Cannery Village. Crews found 60 PPM in the basement, then ventilated the residence. Deputy Chief Hopkins had 85 command.

Duty Crew

July 14, 2019

Today members completed a duty crew from 0800-1600. One engine was staffed. Crews completed hoseline deployment training and hydrant operations. Thanks to the members who attended.

Vehile Accident

Units handled a vehicle accident at Coastal Hwy & Broadkill Rd. Ambulance B-85 transported one patient to BMC. Ambulance A-89 transported five patients to BSC. Deputy Chief Hopkins had 85 command.

Milton units participated in the Broadkill Beach Fourth of July celebration today.

Duty Crew

Tonight, members staffed a duty crew Engine and Rescue. Members completed unit checks, ate dinner, completed training, then reracked the attack lines on three of the apparatus. The officers would like to thank members who took time away from their family to staff the duty crew assignment.
