Vehicle Extrication Challenge

Today, a crew from Milton competed in the Annual Vehicle Rescue Challenge at 16 Mile Brewery in Georgetown. Crews from various Sussex County stations competed in various vehicle rescue drills. Milton came out on top this year as the winner of the event. Milton would like to thank Georgetown Fire Co, and 16 Mile Brewery for holding this annual event.

Vehicle into school bus

9/13/17 Sussex EOC alerted Sta. 85 for a vehicle accident vehicle vs bus with one patient trapped in the vehicle. A-85, E-85-3, E-85-4, and Rescue-85 all made a response and worked for nearly an hour.

MVC with Injuries

August 28, 2017

Just after the 1 o'clock hour, Station 85 was alerted for a MVC on Rt. 9 south of Harbeson. Rescue-Engine 85-3 arrived a short time after dispatch to find a three vehicle MVC with three patients. Crews from the Rescue-Engine and Rescue 85 assisted EMS with patient care and secured the vehicles on scene. Ambulances from Lewes and Georgetown assisted. Deputy Chief Clark had Command. Units responding, Rescue-Engine 3, Rescue 85, Engine 4, A-85, A-82, C-93, DSP, DSFP.

Phase 5 Training

MFD Awards Ryan Kindl

Over the last three years, Ryan Kindl has sold bottled water and donated his profits to the Fire Company and the Delaware Burn Camp. Tonight, Officers and Members of Milton Fire Dept. were joined by members of the Delaware Burn Camp and Representative Steve Smyk to reconize Ryan for his fundraising efforts.

MVC with Rollover

August 13, 2017

At 1532 hours, Sta. 85, Ambulance 82 (Lewes), and Sussex County Medic 104 were alerted to a MVC on Cave Neck Rd. Chief Clark was in the area and arrived to find a single vehicle rolled over with one patient out sitting in the grass. Rescue-Engine 3 arrived seconds later and secured the vehicle. Duty Officer Millman (85-19) arrived and initiated patient care along with the chauffer from the Rescue-Engine (Warren). One patient was transported by A-82 to Beebe. Chief Clark placed the scene under control and returned all units a short time later, turning the scene over to DSP. Units responding, Rescue-Engine 3, Rescue 85, Engines 4, 5, 85-8, 85-15, A-82, Medic 104, DSP, DSFP.

Vehicle Fire

August 09, 2017

At 0136, Sussex EOC alerted 85 for a vehicle fire on Union St. Ext. in the area of Branch Lane. Engine 4 arrived at 0142 to find a mini van that had struck a utility pole with wires down on the vehicle and a fire in the engine compartment. Deputy Chief Clark requested the immediate response of DEC to secure power. Crews remained on scene and protected exposures until the arrival of DEC at which time, the fire was extinguished. Units responding Engines 4 and 5, Rescue 85, B-85, DSFP, DEC. Deputy Clark had the Command.

Fire Alarm Activtion

August 09, 2017

At 2237, Station 85 was alerted for an AFA on Mariners Circle, in the Heritage Creek Development. Deputy Chief Clark responded in 85 Command and arrived seconds before Engine 4 to find nothing evident with the homeowner advising he had an odor in the home. Engine 4 arrived and took the 1st Due engine assignment and began investigation. Ladder 85 arrived next and took the 1st Due Special. Crews checked the entire home with no results. Deputy Chief Clark placed the scene under control and units cleared a short time later. Units responding, 85-8, Engine 4, Ladder 85, B-85, DSFP.

Duty Crew

August 02, 2017

Tonight, as with every Thursday night, the Dogpound had no less then 10 members staffing the Station for Duty crew. The Dogpound maintained two in house crews until midnight, the maintained a single crew throughout the night until 0700. The Station staffed an ambulance for the duration as well.

Assist 89

June 18, 2017

Crews from Milton assisted Slaughter Beach today with an odor of smoke in a residence. Crews from 85-4 assisted crews from 89-2 and 89-5 on scene. No fire was found and crews were inservice shortly after arrival. Deputy 89 had the Command.
