MVC with Injuries

Just as units were clearing from the Harbeson MVC, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 and ambulance 82 (Lewes) for another MVC, this time at the intersection of Coastal Hwy. & Broadkill Rd. Units arrived to find a minor MVC with one patient. Ambulance E-82 transported one patient to Beebe. Fire crews secured both vehicles, completed debris clean up, and returned. Deputy Chief Hopkins had 85 Command. Units responding, Engine-Tanker 2, Rescue 85, Brush 85-00, E-82, DSP, DSFP, Milton Pd.

Minor MVC

September 01, 2020

At 1513 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 for the sixth time today, this time for a minor MVC at the intersection of Federal St. & Mulberry St. Past Asst. Chief Millman (who lives in the area) arrived on scene shortly after dispatch to find a two vehicle MVC with two patients and assumed Command. Command requested an additional BLS unit from Ellendale (75). Crews secured both vehicle and assisted with patient care. Both patients were transported to Beebe Medical Center. Units responding, Engine-Tanker 85-2, Rescue 85, A-85, B-75, DSFP, Milton Pd.

Annual Fire Co. Banquet

Due to the COVID crisis, Milton is holding their banquet a little later than normal this year. Members attended tonights banquet with several members receiving awards for years of service and top responder. Thanks to Camden "Squad 41" for covering the district so our members could enjoy the evening.

Chief Harvey is Promoted to Chief of Police in Milton

It gives me great pleasure to offer the sincerest congratulations on behalf of all Members of Milton Fire Department, Inc. to Chief Derrick Harvey as the newly appointed Police Chief of Milton, DE. Chief Harvey has worked for many years carrying the load for MPD under several different Police Chiefs achieving the rank of Captain prior to assuming the duties as acting Police Chief. As the newly appointed Police Chief, Chief Harvey now has the opportunity to achieve even greater goals as the leader of that Department. Our prayers are with Chief Harvey and his staff as they continue to protect and serve the citizens of Milton...May God Bless and Protect Chief Harvey and his Officers as they carry out their sworn duties....

Washdown from a MVC

At 0614, Sta. 85 was alerted for a washdown as a result of a MVC on Coastal Hwy. in the area of the Broadkill Bridge. Units arrived to find a box truck that had collided with the bridge leaking fuel. Crews secured the truck, clceaned the debris, and notified DNREC of the fuel spill. Units responding 85-2, 85-4.

Tonight Station 85 was alerted for a MVC on Coastal Hwy at Reynolds Rd. Milton's Duty Crew were training in an aquired structure 2 miles away and made the response, arriving on scene in minutes to find a two vehicle MVC with minor injuries. E-82 (Lewes) responded and transported a single patient to Beebe. Captain Windsor had 85 Command. Units responding Engine 2, Ladder 85, Rescue 85, E-82, DSP, DSFP.
