MVC Rollover

July 29, 2018

At 0406, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 and SCEMS Medic 104 for a MVC with rollover on Coastal Hwy & Paynter Rd. 85-11 responded with Lieutenant Millman (85-24) as duty officer. Lt. Millman arrived to find a single vehicle had left the roadway and rolled over in a grassy area on the shoulder, and assumed Coastay Hwy. Command. Command confirmed two patients, both out of the vehicle. A-85 arrived and assessed both patients while Engine 85-5 secured the vehicle. A-85 and Medic 104 obtained one refusal and transported one to MMH. Command placed the situation under control and returned all units. Units responding, 85-11, Engine 85-5, Engine 85-4, Rescue 85, A-85, Medic 104, DSP, DSFP, Milton Pd.

MVC with Multiple Patients

July 28, 2018

On todays date at 2354 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Sta. 85, Ambulance 82 (Lewes), and SCEMS Medic 108 for a MVC on Lewes-Georgetown Hwy., e/o Harbeson Rd. 85-11 responded with Lieutenant Millman as duty officer, and was advised by EOC of a single vehicle accident with possibly two patients. Lieutenant Millman arrived to find two vehicles with heavy damage and assumed 85-Command. Command found a total of five (5) patients on scene and requested two additional BLS. Ambulance 82 arrived and quickly triaged the patients finding one ALS, three BLS patients, and a refusal. Engine 85-5 arrived followed by Rescue-85. Those units were put to work cleaning debris, securing each vehicle, and assisting EMS as needed with patient care. Amblances 82 and 93 both transported one patient while Amblance 91 transported two patients. Command placed the scene under control and turned it over to DSP. Units responding, 85-11, Engine 85-5, Rescue 85, E-82, D-93, C-91, Medic 108, Medic 208, DSP, DSFP, Trooper 2.

Pet Mask Donation

Tonight, the Invisible Fence Company came to Milton and donated two Pet Oxygen Masks. These masks will be used when responding to incidents involving pets.

House Fire

May 08, 2018

5/8/18 Sussex EOC alerted Sta. 85, Sta. 75 (Ellendale), Sta. 89 (Memorial), SCEMS ME101 for a house fire on Williams Farm Rd. Minutes after being dispatched Rescue LT Millman arrived, assumed command and advised 360 complete nothing evident. After further investigation command advised a light smoke condition inside the residence. 858 arrived Assistant Chief Clendaniel assumed command. 852 crew went in to locate the source. Shortly after incident was placed under control and all units were inservice. Units Responding were 858, 852, L85, 854, 855, R85, 755, 758, 752, 895, T89, A85, ME101

Vehicle Accident

April 14, 2018

4/14/18 Sussex EOC alerted Sta. 85, Sta. 75 for an additional ambulance, Medic 108, and Delaware Trooper 2 for a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Shortly after being dispatched Rescue LT Millman arrived and advised EOC, motorcycle in the roadway, two patients, and assumed command. E-85-5 arrived and took a defensive position in the roadway and assisted the ambulance crew with patient care. Command was transferred to Deputy Chief Hopkins. Rescue 85 crew assisted with landing the helicopter. Shortly after A-75 transported one to Milford Memorial Hospital, and Trooper 2 transported one to Christiana Hospital. Command placed the situation under control, and returned all units with the exception of the Fire police. Units responding were A-85, E-85-5, E-85-4, Rescue 85, B-75, Medic 108, DT2, DSFP, DSP.

Vehicle Accident

April 11, 2018

4/11/18 Sussex EOC alerted Sta. 85 for a vehicle accident at the above address. While E-85-4 was responding Sussex advised one vehicle into the creek, one patient, minor injuries. EMS Chief Clark (85-40) arrvided, confirmed the report and assumed command. E-85-4 arrived and assisted with debris cleanup. Rescue 85 was placed available. Command placed the situation undercontrol. Units responding were 85-40, A-85, E-85-4, Rescue 85, 85 Fire police, DSP.

Control Burn

Today, crews from Milton used an old abandoned home for an educational burn. Crews practiced hose line advancement and observed fire behavior before allowing the home to burn in a controlled setting.

3/5/18 at 06:24 Sussex EOC alerted Sta. 85 for a Vehicle fire located on Lewes Georgetown Hwy in the area of Beaver Creek Estates. Fire Chief Harvey (85-15) arrived on scene just after dispatch and advised he had one vehicle well involved. Engine Tanker 85-2 arrived on scene and stretched the front 1.5” attack line. Del dot was also notified due to the temperature and water on the road. Crews worked on scene for approximately 20 minutes before turning the scene over to DSP.

Saftey Seminar

3/3/18 Members from Sta. 85 attended a safety seminar hosted by Georgetown Speedway. The members received training on locations of fuel system shut off switches, master shut offs, how to remove different types of drivers safety belts, and how to use a speed board to remove drivers that may have neck or back injuries from the race car. Milton Fire Department will make its first appearance of 2018 at Georgetown Speedway on March 16th.

3/1/18 at 0357 hours Sussex EOC alerted Sta. 85 for a minor MVC at Sandhill Rd & Gravel Hill Rd. 858 with Lt Hilligoss responded within two minutes and arrived to find two vehicles in the roadway, investigating. E-85-5 responded with a crew of six under the direction of Assistant Chief Clendaniel. Rescue 85 also made a response. Both units worked on securing the vehicles and debris. Command placed the situation under control, and returned all units.
