On todays date, Lewes Fire Captain Jake Slater was involved in a work accident and suffered serious burns. He was initially seen at Beebe Healthcare and later flown to John Hopkins Bayview. Please keep Jake, his Family, and the Lewes Fire Department in your thoughts and prayers as they travel this long road to recovery.

Tonight, crews from Milton and Lewes held a joint duty crew training. Crews used the Milton Elementary School as a mock fire and practiced response to fire calls using the new unit assignment protocol. It was a great experience with several lessons learned.
