Milton Fire assisted Georgetown Fire on a commercial fire early this morning. Crews assisted with fire control, overhaul, and water shuttle operations. Crews worked for approx. three hours before clearing. Ellendale Fire Engine 75-3 covered Milton while our crews operated.

Santa Claus Catches a Fire Alarm

December 17, 2023

While out completing Santa Runs in the district, Station 85 was alerted to a fire alarm. Engine 3 arrived along with Truck 85 and 85-8 (Deputy Millman) and found a malfunctioning system. After mitigating the incident, Santa took a few minutes to visit the neighborhood children who saw him arrive on the engine for the fire.

MFD Received Check from Atlantic Refrigeration

Today Connor Jones and Jaime Nickerson from Atlantic Refrigeration stopped by the firehouse and presented the department a check for $1500.00. This check will be used to help defray the costs of the Milton Christmas Parade. We couldn’t do the many things we do without the support of our local businesses . Please support them. Milton Fire assisted Lewes Fire on a residential fire. 82-8 arrived to find an attic fire. Engine 85-3 arrived as the second engine and pulled a back up line to division two and assisted with fire control. Truck-85 arrived as the third special. Crews operated for about an hour before returning to Milton.

Remembering the Worcester Six

Crews remember the Worcester Six today. These brave men lost there lives 24 years ago today, searching for possible homeless people trapped in a building fire at the Worcester Cold Storage and Warehouse Company.

Early Morning MVC

December 02, 2023

Just prior to 0800, Milton crews responded to a MVC on Harbeson Rd. at the entrance to Allen Harim. Crews found a two vehicle MVC. All vehicle occupants were uninjured. Crews secured the vehicles and provided traffic control until the arrival of DSP.

Staffed Engine Assist Sta. 80

December 01, 2023

Just after 1100 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Indian River (80), Lewes (82), Millsboro (83) Mid Sussex (91) and Medic 106 for a house on fire in the Sherwood Forest subdivision off of Rt. 24 in Long Neck. Engine 85-3 responded as part of the "staffed engine" agreement between Milton and Indian River. Engine 85-3 arrived as the fourth due engine. Crews assisted with fire attack, searches, and ventilation. The engine chauffeur assisted with water shuttle from Indian River Fire Sta. 2. Crews remained in Long Neck for about 2 hours before returning to Milton.

Assist Georgetown on reported MVC w/ Entrapment

This afternoon, just before 2:30pm, Fire & EMS crews responded to a vehicle accident with reported entrapment near the 22000 block of Lewes Georgetown Hwy. Crews arrived and determined there was no entrapment. Milton Fire Department Inc. Sta. 85 provided an additional Rescue and Ambulance.

Assist Ellendale Working Residential Fire

Today Milton Fire assisted Ellendale Fire on a residential fire. Engine 85-3 arrived as the second engine and operated a hose line. Truck-85 arrived as the first special and opened the roof. No injuries were reported. State Fire Marshal is investigating.

Minor MVC

November 21, 2023

Just prior to the 12 o'clock hour, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 along with Mid Sussex Rescue Squad (91) for a MVC at the intersection of Harbeson Rd. & Forest Rd. 85-8 arrived to find a single vehicle into the trees with a single patient under the care of the EMS crew from 91. Engine 85-3 arrived and secured the vehicle. Command placed the scene under control and returned the balance of the assignment. D-91 transported one patient for evaluation. Deputy Chief Millman had the command.
