Tommy Brennan Graduates

Today, Firefighter Tommy Brennan graduated basic training for the US Army. Firefighter Brennan has been training at Fort Sill for the past several months. The Officers and Members would like to congratulate Tommy and wish him luck as he takes the next step in his career with the US Army.

Gas Leak During a Cover Assignment

February 15, 2025

While providing a prearranged coverup, Engine 85 and Squad 49 responded to a Gas Leak in the Rodney Village area of Dover. Crews investigated and operated on scene for about 15 minutes before returning to Camden.

Assist 80, House Fire

February 14, 2025

Engine 85 and Engine Tanker 85 assisted Indian River (80) with a working house fire. Crews from Engine 85 handled the RIT assignment while the Engine-Tanker crew operated inside. Deputy Chief Millman assisted in the Command Post. 85 units worked for about 2 hours before returning to Milton.

Assist 89 Building Fire

January 29, 2025

Today, Sussex County ECC dispatched Memorial (89), Ellendale (75), Carlisle (42) and Station 85 for a manure shed on fire off of Wells Road in the Slaughter Beach area. Command 42 arrived and Chief Hinton (42-15) established command. Engine 85 was the first arriving suppression piece and assumed the FDE. Crews from Engine 85 cut a hole in the side of the shed to gain access for extinguishment. Command scaled the incident back to Engine 85, Tanker 42, and the Slaughter Beach units. Milton crews worked for about 45 minutes before returning to service. Milton units responding, Engine 85, Engine-Tanker 85, Tanker 85, Car 85.

Grass Fire

January 29, 2025

Just before lunch, crews from Sta. 85 responded to a grass fire on Cave Neck Road in the area of Cave Colony. Crews arrived to find a small grass fire as a result of an arching electrical line. Crews extinguished the fire and turned the scene over to Delaware Electric. Units responding, Car 85, Squad 85, Brush 85, A-85.

Duty Crew Takes in a Service Call

January 18, 2025

Just after the start of duty crew, Station 85 received a call at the station for a cat trapped in a suspension spring under a car in the Food Lion parking lot. Car-85, Engine 85, and Utility 85 responded and arrived confirming the report. Crews from Engine 85 operated for about 10 minutes freeing the feline and putting the customers vehicle back together.

Member Off of Probation

Tonight, the membership voted Jake Hunsicker off of probation and in as an active member. Congratulations Jake.

Assist 72, Second Alarm Building Fire

December 04, 2024

Just after breakfast, crews from Milton were dispatched as part of the second alarm to assist Bridgeville (72) with a chicken house fire off of Seashore Hwy. Engine 85 and Tanker 85 responded. Crews from Engine 85 assisted with interior firefighting and Tanker 85 supplied water to units on scene. 85 units operated for an hour before returning to Milton.

Duty Crew

November 15, 2024

Tonight, members and staff at Sta. 85 conducted a duty crew for the night. Members staffed the station all night. Members enjoyed time together, trained on masking up with speed and accuracy, and caught some of the Tyson fight. Members also spent the evening celebrating Tommy Brennan. This is Tommy's final duty crew before shipping off to basic training with the United States Army on Monday. Good luck Tommy, we hope to see you back home on leave soon.

Truck or Treat

Tonight, members of the Fire Prevention Committee and Ladies Aux. attended the Truck or Treat at the DMV in Georgetown.

Tommy Brennan Going Away Party

Tonight, members got together with Tommy Brennan and his family to celebrate his joining the Army. Tommy will be around for a few more months before he leaves for basic training on November 18th. Good luck Tommy, you'll do great things.

Pro Exteriors Donation
