Just after 0630 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Sta. 85 along with Rescue Co. 75 (Ellendale), Medic 111, Medic 201, EMS 100 (Sussex County EMS) and Trooper 2 (DSP) for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Milton-Ellendale Hwy. in the area of Marges Path. Senior FF William Wright Jr. (Freshy) was passing by as the call was dispatched and stopped to render aid. Firefighter Wright, with the assistance of the EMS crew were able to rapidly extricate the patient. Engine 85, Rescue 85, and Rescue 75 crews assisted EMS, secured the vehicles, secured a large diesel fuel leak, and secured a landing zone for Trooper 2. Trooper 2 transported one patient to Christiana ER and Ambulance 75 (Ellendale) obtained a refusal. DNREC and Millsboro Fire Dept. were requested for the HAZMAT response for the fuel leak and spill. Asst. Chief Cranford placed the scene under control and turned it over to DNREC and the Delaware State Police.
