Deputy Chief Millman proceeded in 85-8 along with Engine-Tanker 85-2 to check the area. Deputy Chief Millman arrived two minutes later to find smoke showing from behind a group of buildings across the street from the control burn. Upon further investigation, Deputy Chief Millman found a small storage barn on fire with extension to a large area of debris immediately adjacent to the building, and requested the box be filled. Engine-Tanker 85 arrived a minute later and led off with an 1 3/4 inch mattydale line and began extinguishment. Engine 82-2 arrived next and split crews, one crew pulling a second line from Engine-Tanker 85 and assisting with extinguishment and the second crew pulling debris from the pile with hooks. Tanker 77 arrived and assisted with water supply and overhaul. Crews remained on scene for about an hour before turning the scene over to the Delaware State Fire Marshall and DNREC.
