At 0657 hours, the Sussex EOC alerted Slaughter Beach (89), Ellendale (75), and Station 85 for a structure fire at the Sugar Hill Farms complex on Sugar Hill Rd., in the Slaughter Beach local. Engine 85-3 responded at 0702. While responding, Sussex EOC advised units the RP reported a fire in a manure shed. Engine Tanker 89-5 was the first to arrive on scene immediately followed by Engine 85-3 and Tanker 85. Crews from Engine Tanker 89, and 85-3 pulled a handline and extinguished a fire that had extended to the exterior wall of the building. Chief Jester (89-15) placed the scene under control holding it to the 89 units. 85 units cleared when ready and returned.
