Just after the 5 o'clock hour, units from Milton were dispatched on the box alarm to assist Memorial Fire Co. of Slaughter Beach with a working house fire on Bay Ave. in Slaughter Beach. Engine-Tanker 85-2, Tanker 85, Ladder 85 and an ambulance made the response. Crews arrived to find a beach home heavily involved with fire with exposure problems. Milton crews assisted with extinguishment of the "B" side exposure, then assisted as needed elsewhere on the scene. Chief Jester (89-15) had the Command, with Deputy 85 (Johnny Hopkins) as the water supply officer. Milton crews remained on the scene 3 1/2 hours until released by Command.
