At 1220 today, Sussex EOC alerted Ellendale (75) and Milton for a structure fire at 22398 Raven Circle, in the Kings Crossing Community, w/o Jefferson Crossroads. Engine 85-3 responded within three (3) minutes. Asst. Chief Perry (75-17) arrived on scene within a few minutes of dispatch to find a double wide home with an outside deck on fire. Assistant Chief Perry and several neighbors utilized garden hoses from nearby homes to knock the fire while units were responding. Engine 85-3 arrived first and was assigned to pull a handline and finish extinguishing the fire. Engine/Tanker 75-8 arrived next and were assigned to check the home for extension. Engine 85-5 and Tanker 85 also responded. Engine 5s crew assisted with extinguishment and Tanker 85 was cancelled prior to their arrival. Command placed the situation under control and returned units as they became ready. The scene was turned over to the Fire Marshalls Office.
