Just as crews sat down for dinner after a long day of training, Ambulance 85 was dispatched for a subject with back pain at the above address. Minutes later, the call was upgraded to a Rescue Assist. Ambulance 85 arrived on scene within three minutes finding a male patient with back pain, in an attic. The ambulance crew confirmed that the patient would not be able to come down on his own. Engine 85-3 arrived next with Asst. Chief Jay Clark assuming Command. Crews from Engine 3 investigated and assisted the ambulance crew as needed. Rescue 85 arrived and was assigned to bring rope and a stokes basket into the garage for extrication. Crews packaged the patient and extricated him from the attic space within 10 minutes and turned him over to awaiting EMS crews. Lieutenant Hilligoss had Extrication Officer.
