Just prior to the eight o'clock hour, Sussex County EOC alerted Station 85 for a camper fire on Fisher Rd. just e/o Lewes-Georgetown Hwy. 85-8 with Deputy Chief Hopkins arrived first to find a camper well involved with exposures to a woods. Engine-Tanker 85-2 under the direction or Rescue Lt. Jackson arrived and placed two handlines inservice, one to extinguish the fire, and one to protect exposures. Engine 4 arrived and placed an additional handline inservice to assist with extinguishment. Tanker 85 and Engine 85-5 provided water supply throughout the incident. Deputy Chief Hopkins placed the scene under control a short time later and units cleared when ready. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshals Office.
