On Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, just after the 6 o’clock hour, Station 85 along with Sussex County EMS and Delaware State Police helicopter was dispatched for a serious motor vehicle accident on Cave Neck Rd. in the area of Front St. 85-8 responded and was advised of a single vehicle, with roll over, with confirmed entrapment. 85-8 immediately requested an additional rescue company from Lewes Fire Dept. Engine-Tanker 85-2 arrived within minutes and began extrication. A single patient was extricated in 12 minutes and transferred to EMS for transport. Crews remained on scene for a short time securing the area and assisting various police agencies.
