Just after 1500 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 for a shed fire on White Pine Lane, off of Hudson Rd. Asst. Chief Millman (85-18) arrived a short time later to find a small shed fully involved with exposure to the residence. Chief Millman requested an additional engine from Lewes (82) to the scene for manpower and water. Engine 85-4 and A-85 arrived next, crews were split with one crew advancing the front bumper line to attack the shed fire, and the remainder of the crew pulling a rear booster line to cool the exposure. Tanker 85 arrived next and staged behind Engine 4. Engine-Tanker 82-4 arrived and crews assisted with overhaul and extinguishment. The shed turned chicken coop was a total loss, with minor damage to the siding of the residence. Fortunately, all the chickens in the coop were able to escape uninjured.
