Just after 2100 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 for a fire alarm activation in the Milton Landing complex. Engine 85-4 responded with Asst. Chief Millman (85-18). Deputy Chief Harvey arrived on scene a short time after dispatch and established Command. Chief Harvey was advised from bystanders that the resident had a fire on the stove that was extinguished with the sprinkler. Engine 85-4 arrived and proceeded to the fire apartment, where they confirmed the initial report. Crews from Engine 4 and Engine 5 completed a search of the fire apartment, and checked for extension in the surrounding areas. Utilities were secured to the fire apartment and surrounding apartments and the scene was turned over to the building manager.
