At 1948 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85, Ellendale (75), Georgetown (77), Georgetown EMS (93), and Sussex County EMS for a structure on Gravel Hill Rd. across from Tracks End Lane, in the area of Wyoming Millwork. As crews began responding, they were advised this was possibly now a control burn. Firefighter Bailey Millman (who was in duty officer training with Deputy Chief Hopkins) arrived on scene a short time later and confirmed a large brush pile on fire, and assumed Command. Command scaled the response back to Engine-Taker 85-2, Engine 4, and Tanker 85. Crews extinguished the fire and advised the property owner of the proper procedure for bon fires.
