At 1327 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 for a MVC at the intersection of Gravel Hill Rd. and Sand Hill Rd. Ambulance 85 arrived first, followed closely by the Engine Tanker, finding a three vehicle accident involving two tractor trailers and a large debris area in the intersection. Ambulance 85s crew checked all the drivers and occupants finding only minor injuries with all refusing transport to the hospital. The Engine Tanker and Rescue crew remained on scene securing all the vehicles and removing debris from the roadway with the assistance of DELDOT. Deputy Chief Hopkins had the command.
