At 2042 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Georgetown (77) for a second emergency, Lewes (82), and Station 85 for a house fire on Gravel Hill Road n/o Lewes-Georgetown Highway. Multiple 77 units responded from the MVC scene they were operating on. Engine 85-3 responded within three minutes of dispatch. While responding, Asst. Chief Rogers (77-17) arrived on scene with nothing showing. After a brief investigation, Asst. Chief Rogers found a area on the exterior of the home that had been burning, but had been extinguished by bystanders prior to his arrival. Asst. Chief Rogers reduced the assignment to the 77 units, and 85-3. Engine 85-3 arrived first and their crew was assigned to investigate for extension into the residence, and ensure the fire was completely extinguished. Rescue 77 arrived next and their crew assisted the crew from 85-3. Command placed the situation under control and released the units as ready.
