At 1428 hours, the Sussex EOC alerted Milton Fire Co. along with Sussex County EMS and Delaware Trooper 2 for a motor vehicle collision with possible entrapment at the above location. Ambulance 85 and 85-8 with Lt. Millman responded within a minute of dispatch. Sussex advised a two vehicle with possibly one person trapped and two patients. Captain Sapp arrived on scene within two minutes of dispatched and confirmed the report. B-85 and 85-8 arrived next with the ambulance splitting and assessing both patients and Lt. Millman assuming Command. EMT Holding advised she had a Priority 1 patient trapped in one vehicle and requested that ALS expedite. Engine 85-4 arrived next under the command of Lt. Hilligoss and set up for extrication. Captain Sapp was assigned the extrication officer. Engine 4s crew, assisted by the crew of Rescue 85 made quick work of the extrication and had the patient out within eight minutes of their arrival. Ambulance 89 was requested to transport the second patient. Command placed the situation under control and released fire units. Fire police remained on scene assisting DSP with traffic control.
