At 1425 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Milton, Ellendale (75), Lewes (82), and Sussex County EMS for a working house fire at the above address. First responding unit, Engine 85-4 under the direction of Assistant Chief Clendaniel, arrived to find a two story home with smoke showing from the rear. Crews from Engine 4 advanced a handline into side "c" of the structure and performed a brief search for occupants and also searched for the fire. Engine 85-5 arrived next and secured a water supply for Engine 4. Crews from Engine 5 assisted the other crew with handline advancement and fire extinguishment. As crews from Ellendale and Lewes arrived, they were put to work on the second floor and attic area, checking for and extinguishing fire that had extended into those areas. Chief Clark placed the scene under control and released units as they became ready.
