It is extremely hard to report that Lifetime Member John R. Megee answered his last call on May 20, 2019. John-John served the Department for 68 Years joining March 12,1951. During his active years John-John was an Engineer, and also served in the elected offices of Chief Engineer, Fire Recorder, and Supply Officer.
John-John was loved and respected by all that had the privilege of knowing him. He will be missed by all at Milton Fire Department, Inc. John-John was preceded in death by his wife Betty Megee, who was a Lifetime Ladies Auxiliary Member, who passed March 21, 2010. Please keep Engineer & Lifetime Member John-John Megee's loved ones and closest friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Friends may call at Shorts Funeral Services at 416 Federal Street on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m with the services to begin at Noon. John-John did not want a full fireman's funeral but did request that his final call be answered aboard our 1926 American LaFrance antique apparatus. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Neighboring companies who would like to attend are welcome. Class A uniform is optional. John-John requested no fire apparatus in the procession.
