Just prior to 0300, Sussex EOC alerted Ellendale Fire Co. (75) along with Station 85 for a house fire on Piney Branch Ct. off of Jefferson Rd. Engine 85-3 responded within three (3) minutes with nine (9) volunteers. Engine 85-3 arrived first to find a single story home with nothing evident from the home. Crews from Engine 3 investigated an odor of burning material in the home. Engine 75-5 and 75-Command arrived next and assisted the crew from 85-3 in the home. Engine 85-4 staged at the end of the street and held its crew. Crews turned the scene over to the homeowner and cleared.
