Just after the 5 o'clock hour, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85, Lewes (82), Georgetown (77), and County Paramedics for a House fire at the above address. 85 Command was the first to respond under the direction of Asst. Chief Clark. Command arrived to find a two story home with nothing evident from the Bravo / Charlie side. Asst. Chief Clark established Command. Upon completing his 360, Asst. Chief Clark found light smoke evident from the Alpha side. Engine 85-4 arrived next laying in from a hydrant nearby. Crews from Engine 4 then deployed a handline into the first floor and began their search for the fire. Engine 5 arrived next and deployed a second handline from Engine 4 into the structure. Rescue 85 arrived and assisted the interior crews. Ladder 82, and Engine 77-4 arrived a short time later. Ladder 82 was positioned on the Charlie side and the crew threw multiple ground ladders on all sides of the structure. Engine 77-4 secured their own water supply on the Delta side and advanced a handline from their unit into the basement. Crews quickly found a small fire in the basement and extinguished the same. Crews also searched all floors and checked for fire extension and found none. Asst. Chief Clark placed the scene under control at 1742 hours and began to release mutual aid companies. Milton units remained on scene until 1825 hours completing overhaul and ventilation.
