Just after 1900 hours, Sussex EOC received a radio report from Deputy 91 (Mid Sussex Deputy Chief Millman) requesting that 85, Medic 106, and Trooper 2 be alerted for a MVC at the above listed address. Deputy Chief Millman's initial report was that he had at least one trapped. Hearing the report, Assistant Chief Jay Clark, who had 85 Command for the night, requested that Sussex alert a rescue from Georgetown (77) to assist. As units were marking up responding, Deputy Chief Millman advised he had a second patient heavily entrapped in a second vehicle and that the vehicles were 200 - 250 feet apart. Deputy Chief Millman requested a second ALS unit and a second rescue, bringing EMS-100, Mid Sussex EMS (91) and Indian River (80) to the scene. B-85 arrived first and was assigned to the priority patient entrapped one vehicle. Assistant Chief Clark arrived next and established Harbeson Rd. Command. Command assigned the crew from Engines 85-4, 85-3, and Rescue 77 to begin extrication on the Mercury, while assigning Rescue 80, Engine 80-1 and C-91 to the silver vehicle. Crews extricated the first patient within 25 minutes of arriving on scene, and the second patient within 37 minutes of arriving on scene. B-85 and C-91 transported both patients ALS to Beebe. Assistant Chief Clark placed situation under control and returned units as they became ready, turning the scene over to the State Police.
